ReStartSMEs gives the opportunity to 500 European manufacturing SMEs to:
- do a free assessment of their maturity of technology adoption and receive an individual picture of the company’s digital level provided by experts of the field
- Participate in workshops and events of the European Strategic Alliances and be at the forefront of the twin transition to a green and digital industry
- Access free training on Industry 5.0 and tailored technical and business support
Be matched with European technology providers and experts during Hackathons and Matchmaking events - Receive professional support for the development of a Technology Adoption Roadmap, a strategic planning tool help match goals of the SME with specific technology solutions and possible providers
All activities offered to SMEs and Startups in the framework of ReStartSMEs are free of charge, thanks to the founding of the European Commission.

ReStartSMEs is an EU Commission funded initiative aiming to support manufacturing SMEs in post-COVID-19 crisis recovery through transitioning into Industry 5.0, a more sustainable and resilient approach to automation.
What services does ReStartSMEs offers for traditional manufacturing SMEs applying?
The applicants can benefit from digital transformation consultancy, matchmaking services, trainings and hackathons organized by the ReStartSMEs consortium over the course of the program. Their goal is to find the best possible technology providers that enable access to technologies such as AI, robotics, cybersecurity and IoT. Partners found via the matchmaking process could also assist the participating SMEs in the innovation of process, product and business models.
Why should you apply?
If you care about the future of your manufacturing company, are interested in finding out the possibilities that open because of the technology advancements and/or would like to find a novel way to recover from a post-pandemic crisis applying to ReStartSMEs is the right idea! Who can apply?
We are looking for (individuals from) manufacturing companies willing to embark on the transition into Industry 5.0 journey and change the way of doing business, cooperating with others and creating a positive impact on environment. The applicant should be an individual working for or representing a European manufacturing SME.

What does the project offers to technology providers and tech-savvy startups and SMEs?
By applying those SMEs will:
- Be able to pitch their solutions to an audience of up to 100 traditional manufacturing SMEs looking for solutions providers in this area
- Set up one-to-one meeting with SMEs interested in knowing more about the product /technologies
- Being accompanied in establishing a cooperation with traditional manufacturing SMEs looking for technology providers that might lead to a business agreement and a possible purchase
- Receive visibility for their product / technologies on a European level
